Self-proclaimed "vagabond scholars of malcontent" The Angry Brians set out to bring a new dimension to their blend of Celtic music, by embracing crossover elements and defying genres in a format that could comfortable fit under the "Celtic Fusion" umbrella.
As the band's moniker might suggest, their music is rather energetic and fast-paced, echoing artists such as “The Dropkick Murphys” or “Flogging Molly”, true pioneers of the chimerical combination of punk energy and folk melodies.
With tracks such as "21st Century Irish Man", the group almost reminds me of iconic rock legends such as “The Who”, albeit with a less stadium-y flare and the unmistakable Irish lead melodies. I particularly enjoy how the band can balance beautiful harmonies and great energy, finding a really equilibrate compromise between the two. Songs such as "Highland Call" remind me of melodic HC heroes such as Alkaline Trio or Rise Against, with an extra dimension courtesy of the backbone of instruments from the folk tradition.
This is a relatively new band on the scene, but their sound showcase a clear vision, not to mention the fact that the band members are true veterans of the music scene, as they have been around for more than a few rides! 5 Stars from Celtic Radio!
Finally a band with a new refreshing original sound that rocks! The musicianship and writing of these artists are top notch. The songs are lyrically poetic and edgy while telling stories that are culturally profound. The studio work gets an A+. I love this band !

This CD is the best Celtic rock Music I have ever listened to. Very rarely does a band and their music,
make me want to get up and dance (hey I'm old) These guys do just that I can't sit still, even when I'm
driving, my granddaughter and I happily rock out. Buy it! It's happy music
